Cover Idea for Eastern Maine Community College’s Literary Trades Journal

This was my book cover design idea for the 2024 EMCC Literary Trades Journal, The Eyrie. There is a lot of meaning behind this! I wanted to create a peaceful/meditative look because when you open this book, you will be put into this state if you let yourself get submerged in the stories and the art that is included in the journal. But there is more meaning than just that! The figure could be human or could be from another world (hence the slight glow around its body). I drew the figure in Illustrator and used the AI tool to generate the floral pattern that I masked behind the figure. I also used AI to generate the colorful grass patches. And speaking of colorful, the rainbow colors I used are to represent unity among ALL. I feel that the need for PEACE, the development of AI, and the desire for all of us to UNIFY are all big topics right now and will continue to be throughout 2024.
