April Action Social Campaign and Flyer Design for Eastern Maine Community College
As part of a collaborative effort to streamline administrative processes and enhance student preparedness, I initiated a campaign targeted at returning students to encourage their proactive involvement in key tasks crucial for the upcoming academic year. The campaign aimed to promote awareness and prompt action through various communication channels, including Brightspace, social media platforms, and campus flyers.
Objectives
Early Registration Promotion: Highlight the significance of early class registration for the fall '24 semester to ensure students have ample options before they become limited.
FAFSA Completion Drive: Encourage students to complete and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the academic year '24-'25 to facilitate financial preparedness.
Course Evaluation Advocacy: Prompt students to provide valuable feedback through course evaluations, typically conducted towards the end of April, to enhance academic quality and learning experiences.
Housing Renewal Facilitation: Remind students planning to live on campus in the fall to complete a housing renewal form and submit the required deposit to secure their accommodation.
My Approach
To effectively communicate these objectives, Brightspace announcements, social media posts, and visually appealing campus flyers were crafted to capture students' attention and motivate action.
Key Learnings
This project provided valuable insights into effective communication strategies and the importance of proactive student engagement. By leveraging multiple communication channels and crafting targeted messaging, we successfully mobilized students to undertake essential tasks, benefiting both individual student preparedness and institutional efficiency.
Anticipated Outcome
My goal for the campaign's outcome was to generate significant engagement among returning students, with an increase in early class registrations, FAFSA submissions, and course evaluations completed. Additionally, I hoped for a surge in housing renewal form submissions, which would indicate heightened awareness and participation in securing on-campus accommodation.
Future Directions
I would like to explore more creative ways to reach students, like personalized messages or targeted reminders. My goal is to ensure greater student engagement and administrative efficiency.
Most importantly……..
I wanted to try to help students understand how important their feedback is for colleges and teachers to enhance the learning experience. It provides valuable insights for improving programs and instructional methods, ensuring that education evolves to effectively meet students' needs.
This is a flyer I designed recapping the social media campaign. It can be posted around campus or used as a social media post.
